#100ARTISTICDAYS
On Thursday, March 6 2014, I committed to doing one artistic activity everyday for 100 days, This Instagram based project was inspired by Elle Luna's #the100dayproject. The basis of the project was simple: commit to doing one action everyday for 100 days. See what you are left with at the end.
My goal was to use this project as a catalyst for my art making. To discover what I loved again, who I was as an artist, and keep myself accountable. Before the project, I hadn't touched a paint brush in years, and I had never published work onto social media. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to have at the end of these 100 days, but I knew my focus was to PLAY, EXPERIMENT, & CREATE CREATE CREATE. What happened during those 100 days was an unearthing of a self that I thought I had lost and a documentation of the ebbs and the flows, the painful points and the areas of sheer excitement in hopes that my journey would inspire others.
I played with ink, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, canvases, paper, and a variety of mediums. I realized the power that comes from consistency and shipping your work, even if you think it's not ready.
