THE WORLD WE WANT - CHICAGO
On September 26, 2014 creator and artist Amber Rae launched the first wall for "THE WORLD WE WANT" in Brooklyn, NY. Her public art movement invited participants to reflect on their vision for themselves and the world in order to foster a deeper connection with self and community. The goal was to spread the movement around the world...
Working alongside creator Amber Rae, and artists Crystal Shuller and Jenny Vyas we launched the interactive art installation in Chicago on October 31st 2014 through Wed, November 19th 2014 at Pioneer Court (401 N. Michigan Ave).
Through interactive chalkboard cubes in a public space, they existed to inspire self-reflection and nourish our well-being by connecting us both inwardly to our best selves and outwardly to the community we live within.
With two prompts, “I want to live in a world where” and “To create this world, I will”, everyone was invited to come by and share their aspirations in public.
The result was a cataloged conversation of our visions and our ownership in making those aspirations come to life. An honest reflection of the possibility and potential that exists within our community.

WHY THIS PROJECT?
Two years ago I began a quest to join in on projects that really aligned with my internal compass. This quest led me back to my love of art, back to play, and left me hoping that one day I could bring art and this internal self-reflection to the world...
You see I love art…but I don’t always like the word Art. Art can sometimes be a huge scarlet letter deterring people from galleries, exhibitions and beautiful work. I saw this divide of art on one side and community on the other and desperately wanted to change it.
Cue in THE WORLD WE WANT project that will not only bridge this gap but invite honest reflection and expression from communities all around the world.
A huge thank you to Chicago and everyone that came by and shared their hopes, dreams, and ideas.
